Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed the law on ratification of the intergovernmental agreement on cooperation with Cuba in research and peaceful use of outer space.

The agreement was signed on February 21, 2013 in Havana (Cuba) and is aimed to create institutional and legal platform for the formation and further development of cooperation programs between Russia and Cuba on satellite communications, broadcasting and satellite navigation.
Cooperation will affect the spheres of space geodesy and meteorology, remote sensing of the Earth from space.
