Russian market of unmanned aerial vehicles is incremented by domestic developments
On questions of The “GLONASS Herald” journal about existing domestic developments drones and unmanned aerial vehicles as well as spheres of their application has answered Alexey Muraviev, the representative of General Designer of user’s equipment.

“I don’t have full information about all stakeholders involved in design, development and application of UAV. I would like to say yes, such market exists in Russia and is actively developing. I’m not talking about “toys” but as for models for serious business the sales in civil sector may be estimated in 50 billion RUB (full market estimated is 300 billion RUB. and the civil is about 10-20% of it). There are about 30 companies in Russia are engaged in developing of UAV. The leaders among them are: Tupolev JSC, Russian Aircraft Corporation «MiG», Sukhoi Company (JSC), The Federal State Unitary Enterprise «State Research Institute of Aviation Systems», Radio Engineering Corporation “VEGA” (JSC), Design Bureau “Lutch” (JSC). They are mainly manufactured military UAV.

Speaking about commercial projects, the most significant are:

"Unmanned Systems" (Izhevsk) - UAV: ZALA-421 (series), Fotobot, Pioneer;

"Transas Unmanned Systems" (St. Petersburg)-UAV: Filin, Dozor;

«AVASYS-GeoService» LLC (Krasnoyarsk): Delta, Gamma;

Design Bureau “Iskatel”: Voron helicopter type;

Enix (Kazan): UAV Aileron

Experimental mechanical plant (Istra): Istra-010;

“Technocom Group” LLC – helicopter type;

Chinese company DJI innovations make drones using our navigators (Design Bureau NAVIS) series NV-08.

The main satellite system which provides navigation for these UAV of course is GLONASS. Assignment of mentioned above UAV is patrolling, control, gas pipeline monitoring, forestry, land management, etc".

Moscow authorities want to connect private car DVRs to the urban video control system
Moscow car owners which vehicles are equipped by GLONASS DVRs will be able to participate in an experiment on the connection to the urban video control system, according to core publications. “Private car DVRs will be connected voluntarily. The pilot project covers 40 DVRs equipped with a microphone for sound recording at a distance of 10 meters, IR lighting, having GPS or GLONASS. The image should be colored and transmitted at least 16 frames per second. DVRs also have to operate up to four hours without recharging, "- said in one of the messages.

China to Join Effort on Aircraft Satnav Standards
Europe’s EGNOS augmentation system sharpens the accuracy and reliability of GPS signals so they can safely be used for landing approaches across a growing number of European airports. But aviation is a global enterprise — so the aim is to develop a seamless network of augmentation systems in future. That is the task of an international group of experts, the Satellite Based Augmentation Systems (SBAS) Interoperability Working Group (IWG), whose 27th  meeting took place in Tampa, Florida, September 8-10, hosted by the Institute of Navigation.
